It’s the Victory Ignition

Kind of a Pikes Peak Edition

Erbacher rollin’ that body

Got every man in here wishin’

Sorry. Couldn’t resist a cheeky little R Kelly reference there. With the help of drag racing champion and custom bike builder, Urs Erbacher, Victory Motorcycles has revealed this naughty-looking Ignition Concept in Milan earlier today.

Renowned Swiss-based Erbacher was tasked with creating something a bit special after Victory competed at Pikes Peak in 2015, which will lead to a production offshoot in 2016 according to the Big V. Using a pre-production motor based on ‘Project 156’ that was spanked at Pikes Peak, Erbacher chose a cast aluminium frame and a medley of performance bolt-ons, including Marzocchi forks, an Öhlins shock and Brembo M4 Monoblocs. 17-inch aluminium rims mean it’ll boast cornering talent – incidentally, the ‘156’ insinuates the number of turns on the Colorado hill climb.

There’s no mention of detailed engine specs or figures – other than a liquid-cooled, four-valve, 60° v-twin – though knowing Victory’s previous history it’s bound to be lairy (Victory’s Hammer is a must-ride if you haven’t sampled it). The Ignition features handmade exhaust headers that finish at what looks suspiciously like an Akrapovic can lifted from a BMW S1K.

With commitments in its native US, it’s a shame the Ignition won’t be appearing at Motorcycle Live in a few weeks…
