Ducati has released a teaser pic of its ‘most powerful naked bike ever’ – tagged the Monster 1200 R. Details are very sketchy at the moment but there’s a sportier chassis and a more advanced design to go with the extra ponies. By the look of the pic, there’s no Superquadro lump from a Panigale so don’t expect 200bhp, but the highly versatile DVT motor from the Multistrada could be the kiddy.
The new Ducati Monster 1200 R is the first glimpse of what is expected to be an extensive 2016 range for the Bologna factory, and will be debuted during the Volkswagen Group Night in Frankfurt on 14 September, which is open to the public.
44Teeth will be riding the 1200 R on the world press launch at the end of the month…
