Budget Bike Battle | Dyno Challenge | ZX-7R v SRAD

I’m continuously banging on about dyno numbers being just numbers, because they are, but we can’t let that get in the way of a good old skirmish. There’s nothing like a head-to-head dyno session with your mate, although in this instance, Chris and the Ninja are not my mates.

You may recall a slight delay in proceedings. This latest episode of the Budget Bike Battle was due for release last Monday, but the ZX-7R’s iffy clutch and the fact I couldn’t even start the fucking SRAD meant we had to postpone our little soiree down at JHS Racing.

It was, however, worth the wait. Both bikes performed admirably, even if the stench of fish was abhorrent at times and, as you’ll see, the ZX-7R and SRAD both churned out some respectable numbers. We also got the chance to fit the aftermarket cans that had been lying redundant in Chris’s loft, in a bid to showcase their gains over the stubby shitters.

And the next episode? We’re hoping to take the pair speedtesting at Bruntingthorpe next week, assuming there are no more catastrophic failures.

Many thanks to JHS Racing for taking most of the day out to satisfy our horsepower hunting. Let battle commence…

  1. Cheers for making all the videos. They have been very enjoyable to watch and i am jealous of the rides you guys have been on. The budget bike battle is an interesting one, i think some track days and maybe a tour would set them apart somewhat but they are a very close match making the viewing decent. Im slightly more for the team ninja as the seminal fluid seat puts me off the SRAD and the ZX7R does in terms of looks seem very slightly superior to look at, but its subjective. Im sure the SRAD will dominate the speed challenges etc if there are some coming. Nice one guys, im gonna order some stickers 😉

  2. Absolutely loving the budget bike battle, and have just finished rebuilding my old IDENTICAL ZX7R.

    Proper sexiness
